Sunset on Gilson Pond

As far as I know, Gilson Pond isn't famous.  But it's neighbor is one of the most climbed mountains in the world.  Gilson Pond sits at the base of Mount Monadnock in Jaffrey, New Hampshire.  The sky looked like it might create some dramatic light toward sunset so I headed up to the mountain to find a good location for some photos.  I thought of the pond with the sun setting behind it and trecked through the snow and ice to the shore.  The clouds didn't disappoint.  The light show was dramatic as the sun dropped in the sky.  This is a combination of 3 photos layered to bring out the details on the ice while maintaining the contrasting colors of the sky and sun.
